MOHAMMAD HOTAK – Patron & co-Chair
Mohammad Hotak is a doctor turned entrepreneur and social leader . He is a strong tri-sector leader with extensive experience in the public, private and nongovernmental sectors. Dr Hotak is the founder and board member of Hotak Healthcare, Invest In Great Britain, British Afghan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Afghan Council of Great Britain, Afghana Foundation, Afghanistan Enterprise Council and British Digital Chamber. He is a young British Afghan leader on a mission to put the identity and contributions of Afghan diaspora on the map of the world.
Dr Hotak is a renowned speaker on Afghanistan, Asia and entrepreneurship chairing global conferences on these topics. He has appeared on BBC, Al Jazeera, Russia Today, Islam Channel, Voice of America, Tolo, Ariana and Foreign Policy Magazine. Dr Hotak holds an MBChB in Medicine from Leeds Medical School and certificates in International Organisation Management, Globalisation and Leadership.
At the congress, he chairs the organisation’s strategy and governance board.
MARYAM ATMAR – co-Chair
Ms Atmar comes from a strong background in investment management, investment management, entrepreneurship and philanthropy. Having worked for Bank of America and Wells Fargo, she has extensive experience in real estate, stocks, bonds and investment funds management. Ms Atmar is currently the CEO of global consulting firm MAIH Group, board member at the Afghanistan Investment Fund, Euro Afghan Chamber of Commerce, and Afghana Foundation.
She has a BA in Psychology from George Mason University and accredited professional qualifications in accounting and banking management from American Institute of Banking Investors.
As a founding leader of the congress, she leads North America strategy, women affairs and the economic committee.
